The Best Haiku Anthology 2023 competition is sponsored and judged by the team at Haiku Crush. All forms of traditional and modern haiku are accepted in this annual search to find the best. (Contest entries must be submitted in English.)
To Submit: The submission form is on this page, below these guidelines. All entries must include your full name and email address, and (optional) phone number, in case we have questions or good news for you. Entries that do not provide required information may be disqualified. Original and previously published haiku are welcome. If previously published elsewhere, you must have the right to re-publish your haiku. Haiku you post on social media are also eligible to enter since you own your content. You may enter up to four haiku with each US $9.00 paid submission.
Winners: One Grand Prize Winner will receive $125. Three Judges Grand Mention winners will each receive $50. Their haiku will be published, featured and promoted. Haiku Crush will also select up to 50 runner-ups who will also be published. Winners published in the 2023 anthology agree to the use of their name, likeness and haiku for promotional purposes.
Judging: Haiku Crush’s judges — Natalie, Reid, Steve and Tatiana — will select the best haiku based upon expressive and creative writing merit. All entries submitted will be reviewed by all four judges and their consensus decisions will be final.
Deadline & Terms: The deadline to submit entries is December 31, 2023. Winners will be announced and contacted by email or other means during January. Haiku Crush will publish and promote winning entries, at the same time allowing entrants to keep their copyrights. We believe you should always own your poems, even if we publish and promote them. You give us a non-exclusive right to publish and promote your entries, assuming a third party does NOT own an exclusive right to the haiku you submit to us. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or not submitted properly. We reserve the right to modify these terms as needed. Entries must not infringe the copyright, trademark or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
